Study in Australia for future unlimited

  - Australia exhibit at 17th China International Education

  Exhibition Tour 2012

The ‘Future Unlimited’ Australia Pavilion will make a prominent presence at China International Education Exhibition Tour (CIEET) 2012, showcasing a dynamic study destination that is full of unlimited opportunities. Throughout the exhibition, the Australia Pavilion will feature seminar presentations on various topics related to study in Australia. Students will be able to obtain the most comprehensive and official information from the Australian Pavilion.

Australia's international education enjoys a strong reputation. To ensure the ongoing quality of Australian international education and its sustainable development, the Australian Government has launched a series of initiatives and measures. Such measures include developing the International Students Strategy for Australia and strengthening the Education Services for Overseas Students Act which includes the Tuition Protection Service (TPS). The TPS will provide stronger support to international students and protect pre-paid tuition fees. The introduction of streamlined visa processing for university studies and the new Post-Study Work Rights Visa will make study in Australia more attractive and provide opportunities for students to gain work experience in their field of study.

The Australian Trade Commission’s Shanghai-based North Asia Education Commissioner and Consul Education Eliza Chui believed that Chinese students would benefit from these measures and changes. It’s estimated that there will be a new phase of growth of Chinese students studying in Australia.

‘Australia has always been one of the most favoured destinations for Chinese students. China is the biggest source country of international students for Australia, with the number students growing steadily over the past decade(at the end of 2011, there were over 90,000 Chinese students studying in Australia. Australian international education will continue to grow as students appreciate the high quality education and skills gained during their study experience.

‘Australia welcomes international students including those from China. The Australian Government continues to work towards implementing measures to improve the already high level of protection of the rights of international students in Australia.

‘Australia’s multicultural study environment and world class education system, allows Chinese students to gain a truly international study experience as well as develop skills that are in high demand by future employers. Australian education incorporates work experience programs, internships and courses of study that focus on practical skills for the workplace . These experiences prepare students with the skills to be job ready and internationally competitive when they graduate. The Australian Government supports the career development of graduates returning to China - Austrade will be holding inaugural Career Fair in April to promote Australian education and support the career development of returning Chinese graduates.

‘We sincerely welcome prospective students and their families to visit the Australia Pavilion, to find out more about Australian education and its world class institutions, ’Eliza said.

Australian Trade Commission (Austrade), the Australian government agency responsible for the international marketing and promotion of Australian international education, will participate in CIEET tours in Beijing and Shanghai. The Australia Pavilion will be branded with the Australian education brand ‘Future Unlimited’, and will be the centre stage for showcasing the excellence of Australian education. Austrade will be joined by five state government agencies at the Australian Pavilion - Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia. Visitors to the Australia Pavilion will easily learn the distinct advantages of all these states. In addition, well-known Australian banks Australia and New Zealand Bank (ANZ), Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), National Australia Bank (NAB), as well as Australia’s largest professional accounting body, CPA will be part of the Australia Pavilion. 17 Australian education institutions (as of 14 February) will also showcase their institutions and participate in CIEET.

Austrade will host a number of seminar presentations on studying in Australia at the Pavilion’s seminar area during the CIEET exhibition. Presentations will include an overview of the unique features of each participating state, recently returned Australian Alumni discussing their experiences of living and studying in Australia, and guidance for prospective students on living and studying in Australia.

The Australian Pavilion is located in Hall 1, China World Trade Exhibition Centre (Beijing) and Shanghai East Asia Exhibition Hall (Shanghai).
