In UK, just two per cent of lottery millionaires wish they had never hit the jackpot, according to a new poll. A typical winner has given up work, stayed in the same relationship and drives a BMW. The Caribbean is their most popular holiday and while most have moved to a four-bedroom detached house, the majority still live within 15 miles of their old home. And 70 per cent are happier now than before they hit the jackpot, says the MORI poll. Prof Andrew Oswald, of Warwick University, said: "The typical lottery winner behaves sensibly. "The idea that a lot of money will ruin your life is simply false." Despite their success, 82 per cent still play the lottery every week, half with the same winning numbers. There have been 1,386 national lottery millionaires so far.
