There're many ways that can bring money out of China. When I left for Australia in 2000 I sew two pockets in my underwear, one on each buttock. Then wear a pair of jeans. The pants are too thick that nobody would see the money. I had US$11,000 on my underwear.
Or you can put them into your shoes. A friend of mine took US$20,000 with her, 10k in each shoe. Of course you'll look much taller.
Remember, make your relatives or friends waiting for you out of the custom. So if you're caught they can bring the money back.
